In this second chapter, Kino and Juana are trying to find a pearl of higher value to pay the doctor with. They paddle out to sea in search of oysters to capture the pearls from them. Kino was under the water for over two minutes. When he comes up, he brings with him an enormous oyster with a ghostly glow. They find an enormous pearl within the shell, and it seems to be helping coyotito's wounds just by it's presence.Kino makes a lot of noise out of excitement which attracts a lot of attention.
